Talents
What is talent? Talent is a the kind of ability and skill that comes naturally without training. It is something that you are born with.
The Bible tells us that we are all born with distinct talents and gifts that set us apart from each other.
God has blessed each one of us with talents that we are to use on this earth for His glory. God has not given us talents just for our own benefit! He wants us to use our talents and skills for the benefit of others and be a blessing to others.
He wants us to honor and glorify Him with our God-given talents. It is through our talents that we can find our unique calling in life!
In the following Bible verses about talents, God encourages and guides us to seek His plan and will in our lives.
“ Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23–24
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1 :17
