The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of love! Yes, Christmas is all about love – the incredible love of God for humanity. It is God’s love that brought the Saviour to earth to save us from our sins and gift us with eternal life.
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17.
In the hustle-bustle of preparing for Christmas, let’s not forget God’s, extraordinary love. Let’s keep reminding ourselves about His love and his promise of eternal life by reading these Bible verses.
Christmas Verses from the Gospel
The Glad Tidings: Jesus was supernaturally conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit, without sin. His birth was predicted seven hundred years earlier in the Old Testament.” Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”. Isaiah 7:14
The Glad Tidings:
An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to name the Holy child as Jesus.
The Glad Tidings: The Son of God, the Creator of heaven and earth was born in a humble stable and laid in a manger. TheSecond person of the Trinity came down to earth to be wrapped in flesh.
The Glad Tidings: An angel appeared to the shepherds and gave them the good news that a Savior, the Messiah, had been born. The angel told the shepherds they could find Jesus lying in a manger.
The Glad Tidings: The Child in the manger is the eternal Word, by whom all things were made. He came to do the will of Him who sent Him into the world.
The Glad Tidings: God loved His own and provided a way for us to spend eternity with Him. He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins. He paid the price in full, and we are free from condemnation when we accept that gift of love.
The Glad Tidings: The only people informed of this glorious event were humble shepherds, who were in the field at night, tending their flocks. God chose those shepherds to witness the greatest Shepherd who would ever live.
The Glad Tidings:
Later, wise men, or magi, from eastern countries saw a star in the sky that signaled the birth of a new king. They came to Judea, the region around Jerusalem and Bethlehem, to worship Jesus, the new king.
The Glad Tidings: We are born to die because we have sinned. But, Christ was born to die because we have sinned and it was His Father’s Will that He should be the substitute for us sinners.
The Glad Tidings: The Promised One had finally come but the world did not herald His appearing
The Glad Tidings: Lord Jesus came to give His life as a ransom for us, pay for our sins and to bear punishment on our behalf.

Let’s praise God for sending his son so that we may have peace, hope, love, and joy.
The Visitation
When Mary, who was pregnant with Jesus visits Elizabeth, who was pregnant with John the Baptist, she says that Mary is blessed among women. Luke 1.41-45
The Magnificat
The Magnificat is a hymn of praise by Mary, the mother of Jesus, to the Lord. It is also known as the Canticle of Mary or Mary’s song. This hymn is in reply to Elizabeth and is found in the gospel of Luke1: 46-55
